I guess I didn't see the pictures the first time I read this post and just imagined a dinky little drawing of a fire. The largest beetle I have ever seen in my life was in Costa Rica, and they had these really cool "acid spitting" toads. Th harvest ants were everywhere. (They are still one of my favorite animals.) Best of all, I recall we had a lot of freedom to spend in the huge park near the house called El Bosque:

http://maps.google.com/maps/place?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=parque+El+Bosque+San+Jose+Costa+Rica&fb=1&hq=parque+El+Bosque+San+Jose+Costa+Rica&hnear=parque+El+Bosque+San+Jose+Costa+Rica&cid=3639581805630291211

The market they had at the crack of dawn on Saturdays was cool too.NonModernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09243373409071852902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317914923224027760.post-76853605983991792202011-01-12T22:41:06.964-06:002011-01-12T22:41:06.964-06:00What a fun Christmas---no wonder you remember it!What a fun Christmas---no wonder you remember it!Becky Dietzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04267931062208654627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1317914923224027760.post-59116224393559486762011-01-12T21:52:11.812-06:002011-01-12T21:52:11.812-06:00Do you remember being crammed into buses, with peo...Do you remember being crammed into buses, with people hanging out the doors? Remember the stalls set up in the plaza at Christmas with all the lights and ornaments and trinkets and cheap gifts for sale? I loved going; Mike hated it! :-)Janis Dietzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06281505157488291324noreply@blogger.com
