Luke said they did dialysis on Emily again this morning. But it wasn't to remove fluid but to clean the blood. Her kidneys are functioning and pulling off large amounts of fluid. Her swelling has gone way down. Luke said that the swelling has gone down below her knees. It obviously comes off from the top of the body on down. So she's looking much better! He said her complexion is much better, too. The nurse had said this morning that she looked much "lighter." So her jaundice is going away. The lab report hasn't shown anything different. And Emily still has a fever---and they've never found the source! I guess that means there was no infection in the fluid taken from her lungs.
Emily has been awake and has struggled to communicate with them. She knows she has a trach and Luke said she understands everything that they are telling her. The nurse described her as being in a "drunken state." Obviously, she's not completely off of the meds. Her stomach is still distended but that is from all of her organs having to absorb the extra fluid in her body.
The kids are with Luke's parents this weekend. Grandpa took the 3 oldest kids to a basketball game last night and I'm sure they're loving being out in the country today! Kim is coming to take Janis for a pedicure today. What a special treat!! I know Janis needs some pampering. Luke said they're getting some rest and are staying in the tower again this weekend. Luke has Martin Jones coming in to preach for him this Sunday. Martin is a good friend of Luke's.
So things are progressing. Thank you so much for praying!! God is good, isn't He?
Isaiah 58:8
"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard."

Beck,
Thanks for keeping this blog SO current, so we know exactly how to pray. You may think this is a small task, but really it's HUGE. I come several times a day to see how to pray for Emily!
Isaac Wright prayed:
God, help Emily feel better. You have the most powerful. You know to just heal her. You died on the cross for our sins. Amen
We continue to follow the blog with prayers. Janis we hope you got a pedicure, they are so relaxing. Emily we pray for continue healing every minute.
