Band-Aid Tomorrow!

I talked to Luke and he just got to the hospital to see Emily tonight. I asked him if the hole in Emily's throat had completely closed up now and he said that it hasn't. But the doctor told them that tomorrow, they'll just be applying a band-aid to it! So it's almost closed.
Emily has walked a mile today---well, not literally. But almost. Luke said she's been up and down the halls getting her exercise. Very impressive!!
She's still having trouble eating. Nothing tastes right to her---it's either too salty, too sweet or too sour. So she has no appetite. Now that's something I wish I had---no appetite! But for Emily, we need her eating so she can bust out of that joint!
I called Janis to discuss some details and she said that all that is keeping Emily from going home are the numbers on her liver and her appetite--and those 2 things are related. Her lung doctor told her today that she won't be going to rehab---she'll do her rehab at home. Amazing!
Thank you to those of you who are responding with help for the Panters. I know Luke is going to be very grateful for the help--especially after Janis leaves Tuesday. Please agree with me in prayer for Emily.

Father, would you bless Emily with a healthy appetite? Would you please make things taste right to her? Correct her taste buds and give her a hunger for food. Please bring order into her body---her liver and her appetite. Would you miraculously bring those liver numbers to where they need to be? You are so incredible and we're so grateful for all of the things you have done for Emily. Thank you for surrounding Luke & Emily with great friends who care so much about them. Bless them, God. Pour back into their lives. We love you so much! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Psalm 34:8
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him."

Emily! I'm guessing you're going to need a new wardrobe when you get home! I'm sure you've lost all kinds of weight. I only wish I could share my appetite with you! Keep eating---even if you don't want to---so you can get home to those babies! Love you bunches!

Linda and I went last night to visit Emily, and were so encouraged. When we got there Linda poked her head inside the door, with myself close behind, and both saw Emily out of bed sitting, unknown to us that it was on the Potty chair. As only Emily could do, she said you might want to wait just a minute before you come in, and boy did I whirl around. We really had a good visit, and probably stayed longer than we should, but it was so good to see her. She must have talked for about an hour and a half. We shared how God has given her a life long testimony of his Love and Grace which she is really ready to share with anyone who will listen. She said she ate five bites of everything they brought her on her supper tray, but as was said nothing tasted good. Luke was going to bring her some snack items, which she is going to eat, all the time she said. She is so ready to go home and we are confident that God is preparing that to happen very shortly. It was so good to see her laughing, and if you know Emily her whole body shakes when she does. Praise you Jesus!!
