Janis: Today's status and thanks once again.

First of importance: Emily has received approvals to leave the hospital today from all her doctors, PT,OT, etc. everyone EXCEPT her head doctor, Dr. Pearl, who is currently in surgery. He told the nurse he would come to see Emily when he's done and has read the reports from everyone else. Emily really has her hopes up, and it's already 12:27 in Texas, so she's getting antsy. I really feel that Dr. Pearl will probably go with the release since everyone else has signed off on it. By the way, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Pearl and his vascular team at Baylor. He truly is one of the best! Another of the ways we saw God's hand in all of this.

Once again, I just want to thank everone collectively for all you prayers, gifts, concern, words of encouragement and comfort, and support during these past six weeks. I want to say more, but think I need more time before I commit words to page.

We look forward to seeing Jason, Cheryl and the kids in Germany NEXT week! I still can't believe it! I'm popping Cephalexin capsules trying to get this sinus infection out of my body in time.

I would like to ask for prayer for my daughter-in-law Kim tomorrow as she undergoes another pretty involved proceedure on her back to try to help with the chronic pain she endures each day. If you've followed the blog since the beginning, you've read many of her blogs. She spent as much time as she could with Emily, pampered me, all while teaching school, caring for her boys and Jeff, always in pain with her RA and back problems.

Of course, Emily will need much help during her recovery which will be long. She is already scheduled to go back to Baylor for more scans with Dr. Spak (infectious disease) and tests in two weeks, if she gets out this week. I hope to be able to go back to Texas after we return from Germany and I recoup from jetlag! She told me she was strongly warned by the OT not to do anything at home!

Our family wishes each of you a very blessed Christmas!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen

Eph.3:20-21
