Physical Therapy

I'm sorry I'm so late with this post today----I forgot my cell phone when I went to work and didn't have Luke or Janis' phone numbers with me all day!
Emily is doing well. She was wide-awake all morning and the only I.V. she has left is her nutrition I.V. They took her off of the muscle relaxants that were making her so sleepy and were giving her a different muscle relaxant so she could stay awake.
The physical therapists came in and were asking her some questions. She was a little sleepy still and had her eyes closed, but as they would ask her a question, she'd open her eyes and give them the correct answers. They asked her who the president was and she told them, "That's a trick question!" They told her they weren't trying to trick her---but wanted to know if she knew who the current president was. She answered, "George W. Bush." Then they asked her if she knew who the president-elect was and she muttered, "Obama." Ha! At least she knew the answer! They then asked her to add a series of small numbers and when she got that one right, they told her, "Correct! We think you're doing great!" Good deal!
They were going to do a chest x-ray today to make sure her lungs were doing o.k. without the trach. They also wanted to do a sonogram of her abdomen to check the fluid level. She wasn't happy about the prospect of that---she didn't want them removing more fluid. But Janis said the last time she was there, her abdomen didn't look nearly as distended as it had been. She also has a urinary tract infection. She's been seen by the physical therapists and the occupational therapists and they both think she's doing well. They just said she needed to regain her strength. So let's pray for that!
Prayer Requests:
*That she won't have to have fluid removed from her abdomen
*For her urinary tract infection to be healed
*That she'll regain her strength

Isaiah 40:29
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."

Emily,
Every morning once I get the family sent off and settled I come and "check' on you. Reading the blog lets me know how to pray for you and your family specifically and God is so good to hear our prayers and answer according to his will. Your family has been a blessing to me reminding me daily to rest in the promises of God. Besos y abrasos.Charla (Driggers)Tankersley
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.
