Emily's Day

I talked to Luke and he was content with Emily's day. They started giving her Heparin today. Her blood was clotting a little too much and the kidney doctor wanted to start her on Heparin. They hadn't wanted to do that when she first came in the hospital because her platelets were too low. But she needed it for the condition she was in. The doctors all agreed to put her on Heparin and watch her platelets. She had a lot of output today which helped the swelling in her arms go down. Luke said she had a frustrating dialysis day because the machine kept getting clogged and they'd have to start over. But her urination output was good. The doctor said that if the fluid continued coming off of Emily that the jaundice would take care of itself. They did increase her oxygen level because they said Emily had been working hard breathing so much on her own the past couple of days and they wanted her to rest.
*So...pray that the Heparin doesn't affect her platelets.
*Pray that there are no surprises tomorrow. If Emily continues on this path, it's good.
*Pray that more fluid comes off tomorrow.
*Continue praying for Lily--she was doing a little better.
I asked Luke how we could pray for him and he said, "Pray that after we hang up that my phone doesn't ring. I can't turn my phone off in case they call me about Emily and I need some rest."
Thank you for praying Emily through this day. It was a critical day and God has seen her through it. We need another good day tomorrow!

James 5:16 "The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]."

Father,
Would You give Emily--and all her family--a good night tonight? Please let the Heparin do it's work. Please let the dialysis continue pulling the fluid off of her body. Heal her kidneys and her liver, Father. Please, please, please don't let there be any surprises tomorrow. Let it be a peaceful, progressive day. Give Emily's body rest and the will to fight. Give her doctors unity in the direction they need to go to put Emily on that pathway of healing. Bring peace into the Panter household. Heal little Lily's body and please stop the bug from being passed around. Take care of the children's needs. Give Luke rest tonight. THANK YOU for all that You're doing, Father. It's so hard to walk this path when we don't know where it's going. Thank You that You're leading the way. We love You, Daddy! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Emily, Luke, Dietz and Panter families,

Psalm 18:25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, 26 to the pure you show yourself pure.

I have always been amazed by the tradition of faith that has been passed down from generation to generation in your family. From great-grandparents to great-grandchildren you have all loved the Lord and served him with your whole hearts. So many of you have been faithful to answer His call and serve in full-time ministry. As a family you have been faithful to Him and pure of heart. I know He has been, and will be faithful to take care of and heal Emily. We are praying for healing for Emily and comfort and peace for your families. Thank you for keeping up the blog. It helps us so much to know what to pray for.

Love in Christ,
Tarah and Chris Jenkins (Lubbock)
