Tracheotomy

Luke said the doctor told him they plan to do a tracheotomy on Emily on Thursday. Please pray for her before she goes through this surgical procedure.
Luke said her dialysis is over for the day and things looked good. But they plan on doing more blood workup tomorrow morning.
When I called Luke, he was feeding baby Sarah and enjoying holding that bundle of preciousness. He said she was already changing.
Luke is going back up to the hospital tonight for the 8:15 visiting time and said if there were any changes, he'd let us know.

Would you please leave a note for Luke to encourage him? I'm sure he'll have an opportunity tomorrow to read your messages. Thank you for praying.

In a time like this, God's Word is the only one that seems sufficent...more to come later...

"Give ear to my prayer, O God, and do not hide Yourself from my supplication. Attend to me, and hear me"...Psalm 55:1-2

"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22

"You number my wanderings, Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in your book? When I cry out to you, then my enemies will turn back; This I know because God is for me."Psalm 56:8-9

Luke, you don't know me, but I have been friends with Kim Dietz for a very long time. I wanted to let you know that I am keeping track of Emily, you and your beautiful kids, and that I am in constant prayer for you all. May God grant you strength, hope, and peace as you endure right now. I pray that you and your children find comfort in each other and in God's love. Above all, I pray for a full recovery for Emily. She seems like a fighter! I pray that you can remember that God's plans are perfect, even when our human minds can't comprehend them.

Luke, I cannot imagine going through all of this like you are. We can feel your pain from afar, but the reality that you are living right now is hard and trying. I'm not sure what to say other than, scream when you need to and cry when it makes you feel better. I am sorry your sweet family is going through this. We are praying. Hang in there. May God bless you with renewed strength and determination as you battle this trial. You seem like a wonderful husband and Dad!

Hey there Luke,
I can't even begin to imagine the stress that you are under. I know it has to be hard on you to just stand by and wait to see what happens next. I want you to know that I am praying for you and your family and you are never far from my thoughts. You have been a great inspiration to be by helping me find the Lord again and I honostly believe that He is with Emily and putting His hands on her to heal her (although the process may be slower than we'd like). You and Emily are truly missed at church. I did get the oppertunity to see your children and they seem to be holding on strong. Sarah is a beauty. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to call me. You will continue to stay in my prayers.

Luke.

I'm so proud of the strength you've shown through all of this. You've loved Emily like Jesus loves the church...with an unwaivering love. You did something the other day at the hospital thay was so little, yet showed such a great depth of love for Em..it really blessed me.It was right after they put her on the vent and she was drooling and you took your hand and wiped the spit and tears off of her face. Such love was shown in that moment. That's the kind of thing you don't expect to have to do with your spouse until you're way older and you're having to deal with it now, but you're doing such a great job. I'm really just so proud of the way you've demonstrated your love...your soft, kind words. Your gentle touch each time you see her. Your encouraging words to help her keep fighting. I can't wait to be able to tell her all about it when she gets better. We're here and will be until the day our Emily is back. We love you so much!

Luke -
I know we haven't met, but I was in Chile with Emily during her growing up years. We have so many great memories of our families doing things together. I have been praying and will continue to pray for your strength and courage on a road that I know is so long and so hard. I just pray God will renew your strength each morning and give you what you need to face that day. Your children are precious and I praise God that you guys are following God's call in the ministry and teaching your children to walk in His ways. Please know I am lifting you and Emily and kids up many times a day.

Luke,
I know you're probably running on fumes, but I'm praying that God infuses your body with supernatural strength---just like I'm praying for Emily. I'm praying God gives you wisdom of where to be when. I'm praying you see Jesus every day. I'm praying you gain so much that you're able to minister with later. I'm just praying your needs are met, Luke. He loves you so much---and so do we!

Luke, We are praying for all of you daily. Tonight all the girls prayed sweet prayers for you and Emily and the kids. May God be "a tower of strength against the enemy" for all of you through this time.

"Hear my cry, O God; give heed to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of your wings." Psalm 61:1-4

Luke,
We are remembering you in our prayers and have been praying for you all and especially Emily at our Bible Study and prayer meeting here at Inskip Baptist Chapel in the UK. We know at some point the Lord will use this time for his Glory. We are MORE than conquerors through him who loves us. If God is for us who can be against us. What a wonderful protector we have.

Luke, I can't say anything better than what God Himself says.
2Cor 4:17 "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." Ps 43:5 "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him! My Savior and my God!" Ps 62:5-8 "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." Micah 7:7 "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me."
That's just a few.
I am in constant prayer for Emily and your family.

Hello, Luke!

Gloria and I thoroughly enjoyed the service with your people at Bridgeview on Sunday. She played the organ with Vicki at the piano, and your folk sang well!

We have been praying for her and for you every day. God is ALWAYS good..all the time. Remember the song from a few years ago:

"God is too wise to be mistaken.
God is too good to be unkind.
When you don't understand,
When you don't see His plan,
When you can't trace His hand...
TRUST HIS HEART!"

Luke,

Know that our family is praying for yours. We have added Emily to our prayer list here at the church in Childress. There are a lot of people here who have shown concern for all of you, even though they don't even know you or your family. We are praying for a complete recovery. Let us know if we can do anything for you or your family. Love you.
