Update from Luke

I just talked to Luke and he was frustrated because they hadn't heard from the CT scan or the blood results and felt like he had no news to offer us.  But as he began talking, he'd really found out alot, but just didn't feel like he had essential information for us.
They've brought in an infectious disease specialist to give close attention to Emily.  They're just not sure what her infection is.  Her fever has gone down from 101 to 100.4.  Luke said she really does feel cooler to the touch.  They have her on an antibiotic.
Her urine output is still good---and she's not on dialysis today.  Luke said she had a 100 cc hour and a 70 cc hour.  So for that, we're thankful!  They think her kidneys are coming back, but they want more evidence before they'll commit themselves to that prognosis.
Emily's stomach is still swollen.  But she did have a bowel movement and they were very excited over that!  (Luke laughed at what they were getting excited over!)  So they know that her bowels are not impacted and I guess that was a concern.
She's still jaundiced.  And Luke said they are going to do a tracheotomy this week....they just don't know when.  The doctors are conferring with one another over that decision.
Bottom line....they told Luke that Emily is still very critical.  There are a lot of things wrong with  her and she's still fighting for her life.  These are small victories in a large battle.  So Emily still needs lots of prayer!  If you're like me, Emily is never far from your mind or your heart.  I thought I knew before, but now I really know what it is to pray without ceasing.  I'm sure you do, too.  Please continue lifting Emily up to her heavenly Father Who loves her more than we do.  We'll let you know as soon as we hear about the CT scan and the blood results.

Pray without ceasing.

Emily and Luke,
Your family is constantly on my mind. We are praying for complete healing and restoration. That God would pick you up out of this mess and deliver you from tainted health. Lord, you promise that your word will not return void. Lord those who live in the shelter of the most high will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord I declare that you alone are Emily's refuge, her place of safety; you are her God and she trusts in you. We all do. Lord I pray you will cover Emily with your feathers. You will sherter her with your wings. Your faithful promises are her armor and protection. Emily and her family will not be afraid of the terrors this time brings. They will not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that srikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at her side, though ten thousand are dying around her, these evils will not touch her. Lord open our eyes to see how the wicked are punished. Lord you are Emily's refuge, you are her family's refuge, you are our refuge. Lord you are the most high, our shelter and strength. No evil will conquer Emily, no plague will come near her home or hospital room. Lord I thank you that you will order your angels to protect Emily wherever she goes or whatever she goes through. Lord I thank you that your angels will hold Emily up with their hands so she won't even hurt her foot on a stone. Lord I thank you that Emily will trample upon lions and cobras; that Emily will crush fierce lions and serpents under her feet!!!!!! The LORD SAYS, Lord you say, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward thim with a LONG LIFE and give them my salvation." Father I thank you for your promise in Psalm 91. I claim this over Emily and her family, Lord you are true to your word and I thank you for fulfilling all these things in Jesus' name. AMEN!

Em,

How we love you! Keep it up sweet girl, you're amazing! The verse the Lord gave me to pray over you tonight is Isaiah 46:6 "Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you!" His promises are true! I am working on a mobile of pics of the kids for you to look at and my mom is going to come up on Wed. to get you all freshened up. She's even bringing new Bath and Body Works stuff and a special cap to wash your hair. I know that will make you feel so much better. I know the tracheotomy thing will be better too bc you will be able to get off of your back which will help with the muscle spasms. I really love you sweet girl and I'm so thankful for you and all of the miracles we've seen in your life. Thank you for loving Jesus like you do and thank you for loving Sarah so much that you sacrificed your life to give her life...you have given her the ultimate act of love. We are so proud of you. Love you more than you will ever know!
