On Her Own

Luke told me that Emily is on her own tonight--they've taken her off of dialysis so they can test her blood tomorrow morning. They can't get a true reading on a blood test if she is on dialysis. She still has good output even though she's not on dialysis. But the main test is with the blood. So...at 4:00 a.m., they will be drawing blood and testing it. This will tell them if there's any change in the kidney & liver function. The doctors should come in by 9 or 10 and maybe we'll know something by noon tomorrow. Luke doesn't expect them to dilly-dally on this because they're anxious to know the results themselves.
They had to give Emily blood tonight. There's some test that tells them the oxygen level that the organs are getting and the score needs to be at 27. Emily's score was at 24. Luke said they acted like it wasn't a big deal. But they did give her blood.
Emily is still running a temperature of 101 degrees. They've put a cooling blanket on her to try and bring the temperature down. Maybe the blood tests will also show them where the infection is.
Emily's levels on the respirator have stayed the same....which is good! They haven't had to increase the amount of oxygen or pressure she's getting. Awesome!
Some of Luke & Emily's friends organized a BLOOD DRIVE today. It was incredible!! The blood drive was done in Emily's name and so many people showed up to give blood that they had to turn people away! That just makes me want to cry. What an incredible display of love and help. The family wants to thank those who organized it....and for those who went to give blood. We're humbled and blessed!
Prayer Needs:
*Pray for good results on the blood test
*Pray that they'll find the source of the infection
*Pray for strength for all of Emily's organs
*Pray Emily will be able to come off of the respirator and avoid a tracheotomy
*Pray for peace for Emily
*Pray for Luke as he cares for Emily
*Pray for Janis as she cares for the children
*Pray for Luke's parents to regain energy quickly after a weekend with 5 active grandchildren

Isaiah 26:3
"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."
